Transitions Prep Checklist

Faculty: How to Prepare for the Transition to Canvas

These steps should take less than 30 minutes.

  1. Review your courses in Blackboard
    Make a list of the Course Name(s) and Course ID(s) you want copied from Blackboard to Canvas. This appears at the top left of every Blackboard course above the course menu. Example: 26SPRING0_16175 (2026 SPRING ED 612).
  2. Download the files you want to keep
    Course Navigation Menu → Course ManagementContent CollectionAll Courses Content. Select files or folders, then click Download Package. Upload the zipped files to your CSU Pueblo OneDrive for safekeeping.

  3. Bookmark the CSU Pueblo Canvas landing page
    Review FAQs and course migration (Blackboard → Canvas) guidelines.
  4. Register for training sessions
    Sign up for webinars and workshops to learn how to build and teach in Canvas.
  5. Submit questions or concerns
    Use the Canvas support site for help and assistance.
