Sponsored Programs & Compliance Update

We are excited to share that beginning January 2, 2026, the Office of Sponsored Programs and the Office of Integrity and Compliance will be shared among the CSU System.

We will provide more updates here as they become available. In the meantime, continue to work with Abby Gade in Research and Sponsored Programs.

Research Compliance Integration Update
As we wrap up the academic year, we are pleased to share a positive update on the integration of research compliance and administration programs between CSU Fort Collins and CSU Pueblo.

Integration Complete

  • Human Research Protections Program (HRPP)

Integration In Progress

  • Biosafety Programs
  • Animal Care and Use Programs
  • Conflict of Interest (COI)

Integration Targeted for Completion by End of Summer

  • Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR)
  • Export Controls

Research Administration Integration Update

Hiring a New Research Administrator

  • Supporting proposal submissions, award management, and stewardship of sponsored funds
  • Serving as an authorized representative for proposal submissions
  • Providing dedicated support tailored to CSU Pueblo researchers

Process Mapping & Gap Analysis

  • Process mapping for CSU FC and CSU P pre- and post-award workflows is complete
  • Gap analysis has been conducted to identify differences
  • Findings are being used to determine adjustments, training, and support needs

Proposal and Agreement Signatory Update
Lori Schultz, AVP for Research Administration, has been designated as the signatory for CSU Pueblo proposals and agreements moving forward. Abby Gade remains available for support and coordination.

Effective January 20, 2026, the Institutional Review Boards of Colorado State University Pueblo and Colorado State University Fort Collins have combined under a single Federalwide Assurance (FWA) registration with the Office of Human Research Protection (OHRP). This change is in response to a system policy change for research compliance published on January 01, 2026. Policy Library – Office of Policy & Compliance – Colorado State University .

All new submissions to the IRB office will be reviewed by either a designated reviewer within the office or a combined committee including representatives from both Fort Collins and Pueblo campuses.
