ED 600: Introduction to Ed Leadership
Introduces effective leadership and management to include current issues and trends facing today’s educational leaders, ethics and professionalism, with an emphasis on the CO Principal Quality Standards. -
ED 601: Shaping Organizations: Leadership & Management
Explores qualities of effective change agency within leadership to include organizational behaviors, communication skills, goal setting, aligned planning, change theory, and skill development within complex educational organizations. -
ED 602: Legal & Financial Dimensions of School Leadership
Examines national, state, and local laws and policies that affect organization and administration of school systems including, but not limited to: IDEA, CO READ Act, revenue, budgeting practices, and effective financial decision making. (Meets Literacy course requirement under Pedagogy Component of M.Ed.)

ED 603: External Environments in Leadership
External influences on leadership decisions including political climate, demographics, economic trends, family engagement, community support systems, school safety, and accountability measures. -
ED 604: Educator Development, Supervision, & Evaluation
Aspects of leadership roles within the teaching/learning process including curriculum development, instructional strategies, effective coaching and mentoring, and developing the capacity of instructors to improve their own effectiveness; all for improving student performance. (Meets Differentiation course requirement under Pedagogy Component of M.Ed.)

ED 605: The Principalship: Leadership at the Site Level
School site-level management and leadership issues faced by building principals including but not limited to: personnel issues, site-based budgeting, student behaviors, curriculum and instruction practices, student/staff/parent engagement, safety procedures, staff development, and day-to-day building management.

ED 606: Technology & Site-Level, Data-Driven Decisions
Strategies involved with the examination of a wide variety of assessment data to identify strengths and deficiencies in the teaching/learning process and the application of findings to ongoing policy and practice. (Meets Instructional Technology course requirement under Pedagogy Component of M.Ed.) -
ED 698: Internship in Education Leadership
Candidates engage in onsite educational activities related to educational leadership programs to develop program standards. Placements will be determined by program advisor and school district/building leadership. Repeatable. Variable credit (1-12).
