Residency Classification in Colorado
Understand Your Residency Status
Learn how CSU Pueblo determines residency for tuition purposes and where to find detailed information about Colorado residency rules and tuition classifications.
Colorado State University Pueblo determines your initial residency status based on the information you provide in the Residency section of your admissions application.
Residency for tuition purposes in Colorado is determined by state law (Title 23, Article 7, of the Colorado Revised Statutes of 1973, as amended) and court decisions. These rules apply to all public colleges and universities in Colorado and may change over time.
A residency decision made by one Colorado college or university does not automatically apply to another institution. CSU Pueblo must follow Colorado residency laws and can only make exceptions when specifically allowed by state law.
